Free Yearly Credit Report

Free Yearly Credit ReportEveryone has a right to receive a free yearly credit report from each of the 3 major credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion & Equifax). You should take advantage of this important privilege and order your free reports to monitor your credit history, check for errors and protect yourself against identity theft.

How to Order Your Free Yearly Credit Report?
The ONLY place to order your free reports from is the Free Annual Credit Report Request Service (www.annualcreditreport.com), that was set up by the credit bureaus to process all consumer requests for free reports. The service is monitored by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and is perfectly safe to use. See Free Government Credit Report for more information.

You can order your free yearly credit report online, over the phone or by mail. By ordering your reports online you get immediate access to them, and you can also download and print your reports.

You can order a separate report from just a single credit bureau of your choice, or you can order a combined report (also called a 3-in-1 Credit Report). Most people order the combined report because it’s much simpler to check and detect errors.

Each of the 3 major credit bureaus also sell credit reports to consumers on their websites, but these reports are NOT part of your free yearly credit report, and cost money.

Personal Information Scams Warning
There are plenty of scam websites that attempt to steal your personal information.

The Annual Credit Report Request Service will not call or send you an email asking for personal information. If you do receive such a request – DO NOT respond to it!

Also, avoid using any other website that advertize “Free Credit Reports“, “Free Credit Scores” etc. Most are imposter sites that either try to steal information from you, or charge you a fee for a service that’s free by law!
