Trans Union Credit Report Dispute

Trans Union Credit Report DisputeYou may file a Trans Union credit report dispute online, over the phone or by mail.

Although filing credit disputes online is convenient – financial advisers and consumer advocates recommend that you dispute credit report error by mail only.

Using the mail creates a “paper trail” and thus makes it harder for the credit bureaus to ignore your request.

For general information on disputing credit report errors
please see How to dispute your credit report

Not all credit report errors can be disputed online. Only credit accounts, bankruptcies, collections, liens, judgments, inquiries, and personal identification information can now be disputed online.

If you submit your Trans Union credit report dispute online – the re-investigation results will ONLY be provided to you online. Make sure any spam blocker or email settings for the email account you provide while disputing online are set up to allow for emails from TransUnion.

If you want the results of the re-investigation mailed to you, you should NOT dispute TransUnion credit report online. Instead, submit it by mail or phone.

Remember that even if you submit a dispute online – you still need to send supporting documentation by mail to transUnion in order for them to complete the investigation properly.
