I got 2 parking tickets last month, so I’m concerned about my credit score. Can parking tickets hurt your credit?
Only if they go unpaid
Parking tickets (as well as any other ticket) do not appear on your credit report and therefore can’t hurt your credit score.
That remains true if you pay them. Unpaid parking tickets are often sent to collection, and as such will go on your credit report and hurt your credit score. The end result of unpaid parking tickets is always the same: A collection account, a drop in credit score, a lawsuit, a lien.
In the end you pay more than the original ticket, much more, and suffer a significant drop in your credit score.
Do yourself favor: learn from other people experience and pay off these parking tickets!
