SafeRent Credit Inquiry

SafeRent Credit InquiryWhat is SafeRent Credit Inquiry, and why is it on my credit report?

SafeRent (First Advantage SafeRent) supplies renter reports, eviction reports and tenant scoring to landlords and property management companies.

Often, when you grant permission to a landlord or property manager to pull your credit reports, they turn to Safe Rent who pulls the actual reports in their name, process them and compiles a renter report on you.

Safe Rent has a proprietary score (renter score) that uses your credit reports as well as other information collected by Safe Rent such as evictions, late rental payments (reported to them by the landlords) etc.

For this reason, in many cases SafeRent Credit Inquiry will show up on your credit report instead of the landlord you gave permission to.

Because SafeRent collects and processes information, it is subjected to the same Fair Credit Reporting Act rules the credit bureaus are subjected to. This means that you have the right to view your renter report and (should the need arise) to dispute it.
