At the Annual Credit Report Request Service site

Everyone is entitled to get a Free Annual Credit Report from each of the 3 major credit bureaus – TransUnion, Experian and Equifax under the FACT Act enacted December 2003.

The three major credit bureaus has put up a central website dedicated for this purpose only (www.annualcreditreport.com). The site is regulated by the government, totally free, and absolutely secure. You will not be asked to provide your credit card.

This site (called Annual Credit Report Request Service) provides three options for ordering your free credit report no fee: Online, over the Phone (via 800 number) or by Mail. If you request your reports online then you can view, print or download them instantly.

The ONLY way to get your free annual credit report is this site. You may log onto each of the 3 credit bureaus’ websites and ask for your credit report there, but you’ll be asked to provide them your credit card details as well.

It is possible to order each credit report from each bureau separately, or a combined credit report, also called 3-in-1 credit report.

Avoid goggling “free credit reports” or similar search terms. As you’ve already discovered, there are many imposter sites that try to charge you a fee for a service that’s free by law!

See free-government-credit-report.html for more details and information regarding your free credit report no fee and an important personal information scams warning.
